In this series, I complete a 4-card reading pertaining to the upcoming week’s world events. I then discuss the results in the following week’s reading. Unfortunately, this reading for the week of 11/7/11 got lost in the shuffle. I apologize that it didn’t show up until a week (too) later. It makes it more difficult for me to tie into current events when they are no longer current!
In last week’s reading we saw two cards from the suit of Wands. They both happen to fall under the astrological sun sign of Leo which happens to be Barack Obama’s birth period (he is the 6 of Wands). There has been a lot going on with the EU in regard to problems and bailouts in Greece. George Papandreou stood up to the EU (and stood up for the people of Greece) by calling for a referendum (a vote by the people to decide if they wanted the EU plan). This was his 7 of Wands moment where he was digging in for the battle (which he ultimately lost). The Knight of Cups brings changes to relationships. When Papandreou called for the referendum, his relationships changed in a big way (he was voted out of office). As the week before, the Queen of Swords is always seeking what is just and fair (when she’s not being unjust and unfair herself), and the 6 of Wands is feeling good about a job well done and being recognized for good work (again, this is Barack Obama’s birth card).
