Temperance
I am sorry for the delay (and lack of World Readings so far) this month. I made a big life decision at the end of last month that has me in total upheaval mode until mid-January or so.
We are currently under the astrological sun sign of Sagittarius (through December 22) which corresponds to Temperance in the tarot. Temperance is a time for: consolidation, moderation, avoiding excess, compromise, balance, equilibrium, harmony, centered, combination, joining with others, the “right mix”. Temperance indicates that compromise and cooperation are vital components for balance at this time. You should try new things while maintaining present security.
We are also under the 9 of Wands (defensive, assuming ill, expecting difficulty) until December 12, then we move into the 10 of Wands (December 12 – 22). The 10 of Wands is burden, responsibility and being unable to say “no”. Thankfully, on the heels of the 10 of Wands, we move into Capricorn and the 2 of Coins on the 23rd. The Devil is the card of Capricorn, and it can indicate a break from the spiritual through overindulging the senses (eating too much, drinking too much, smoking too much, max’ing out the credit cards… you get the idea). The 2 of Coins kicks off Capricorn (December 23 – 31). It is material and physical balance. It can literally mean balancing the checkbook (makes sense around the holidays) as well as balancing work/life. It can’t be all work and no play (or vice versa).
Mercury goes direct today (December 13), and there is often quite a bit of mechanical, transportation and communication chaos during the end phase of this planet’s retrograde. I’ve already dealt with its effects way too much today (communication break down with not 1, not 2 but three people, and SEVERAL friends have complained about car problems – just today!). I have to my happy zen place before I got nuts!

I am moving to Hawai’i in the middle of January, so I’m most assuredly dealing with that pesky 10 of Wands right now. Too much to do in too little time. I will be working on an organic farm on the Big Island in exchange for food and lodging. Hawai’i has always felt like home to me (as it does to many, many people), and I’ve been wanting to move there for quite some time. The opportunity arose, and we’re jumping on it now! I hope to study Ho’omana (also known as Huna) with a Kahuna (a Hawaiian shaman).
2012 is quickly approaching, and I know there are a lot of people who have questions about what’s to come next year. Even in the middle of the move, I’m still working on card readings.
